Elia is planning to lay new underground electricity cables (15kV) in Mortsel. This will take place between the 'Mortsel' high-voltage substation in Drabstraat and the Agfa Gevaert Company in Septestraat. The work is needed to continue to guarantee a reliable electricity supply for Agfa-Gevaert . -
The route
Elia is laying an underground electricity cable (15kV) in Mortsel. The route starts from the high-voltage substation at Drabstraat and runs to Agfa Gevaert in the Septestraat.

Schedule
Elia will start the works in mid-April 2021 . The work will be carried out in several phases in order to limit the inconvenience in time and space for local residents and companies along the route. Work will be carried out in the following streets: Drabstraat, Heirbaan, IJzerenweglei, Osylei, Dieseghemlei, Ter Varentstraat and Septestraat. The works will last until the end of August 2021 .

Last phase of works in August
Over the last month, Elia has been working on the renovation of the road surface after the works for new underground cables between the “Mortsel” high-voltage substation and the company Agfa-Gevaert. At the end of August, the works will come to an end and the signposting will be removed.

Definitive road repair of the streets concerned in Mortsel
In recent months, Elia has installed new underground electricity cables (15kV) between the “Mortsel” high-voltage substation and the company Agfa-Gevaert. Now that the laying of the electricity cables has been completed, the contractor Scheldekabel NV is renewing the road on behalf of Elia and the city of Mortsel.
