German system operator 50Hertz (Elia Group) signs MoU with Belgian offshore wind developer Parkwind to build transformer substation in the Baltic Sea

50Hertz, the German subsidiary of system operator Elia, and Belgian company Parkwind have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on establishing a more efficient connection between the new Arcadis Ost 1 wind farm in the Baltic Sea and the German high-voltage grid. To achieve this, in what will be Parkwind's first project in Germany, it will team up with 50Hertz to build an offshore transformer platform in the Baltic.
