Elia's Federal Development Plan 2020-2030 approved

Elia's Federal Development Plan 2020-2030 has been approved by Federal Energy Minister Marie Christine Marghem.

Every four years, the operator of Belgian's electricity transmission system submits a development plan identifying the investments needed to meet the requirements of the Belgian electricity system for the next 10 years.

  • The Belgian transmission system must evolve in order to adapt efficiently to the rapid changes brought about by the energy transition.
  • This plan identifies the investments needed to meet future requirements.
  • It includes the improved integration of both offshore and onshore renewable energy (offshore and onshore).
